Graduate programs in the UK fall into three main categories:


Taught Masters (MAs/MScs/MEng)Research Masters (MRes/ MA by Research)Doctorates and PhDs


Taught Masters are postgraduate courses that follow a similar pattern to undergraduate study, with lectures, seminars and tutorials. You will be expected to research topics yourself and take and independent approach to studying.


Research Masters are often seen as pre-cursor to a PhD. You will research a particular topic independently and focus on improving your research skills to produce a dissertation or final projects.


Masters programs in the UK generally last between 1-2 years, with PhDs taking up to four years to complete.


Non-EU students will need to apply for a student visa under the tier 4 visa category. They will need to demonstrate the following:


Proof of funding to cover a postgraduate course and living costsA confirmation of acceptance to study (CAS) reference from a university with sponsor statusAdequate English language skills


It is normally also necessary to demonstrate that you have adequate study abroad travel insurance, which you must buy before you travel.


If you have completed a three-year degree program in India, the advisable plan of action to maximize eligibility for U.S. graduate schools is to apply for a Post Graduate degree here in India. A one-year university affiliated program will make up for the fourth year of a U.S. Undergraduate degree.


Student need to take following exams -


IELTS : For most courses and universities, International students are required to take IELTS (International English Language Test) which is regularly administered by the British Council. Some universities may accept TOEFL as an alternative. You need to send your IELTS or TOEFL score report with your application package.

Note : Some Universities may waive IELTS if you have been studying in English medium throughout and they are convinced that you are proficient in English. GMAT : For most management courses, International students are required to take GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). You need to send your GMAT score report with your application package.
